Barack Obama to answer Twitter questions

US president will discuss jobs and the economy on microblogging site on 6 July

The White House will host a Twitter session with Barack Obama on 6 July. The US president will answer questions submitted through the microblogging site in a session that will focus on jobs and the economy. A video feed of his answers will be streamed online.

While Obama has taken questions submitted on social networking sites in previous public meetings, including one hosted by Facebook, the White House says this will be the first time the questions will come exclusively through Twitter.

The presidential campaign said last week Obama has started to tweet regularly. Messages sent by the president using his Twitter account will be signed "-BO".
