On ABC this debate was preceded by a show called "Wipeout" in which contestants competed in the "world's largest obstacle course". It strikes me that such a contest might be a more practical way of choosing the Republican nominee.

Did Santorum just say what we need is someone who can paint a positive image for this country? Isn't Obama quite good at that?

The problem with the Bain attack is that you have to go into the detail of leveraged buy-outs. There's no question that Bain Capital, like most private-equity firms, took handsome profits out of firms that they left saddled with so much debt that they subsequently went under. Ampad is the best example: Romney profited, and the workers lost their jobs. But how do you explain that in a soundbite?
