PJ: Besides the photo-op that Palin could have with the former Prime Minister, what would they talk about? When you consider that Mrs. Thatcher supported abortion laws, was not a religious zealot and supported gay rights you've got to wonder what the tea party queen would find that she has in common with the Iron Lady. Oh that's right, this isn't about policy substance, or about supporting and showing compassion for Mrs. Thatcher, it's about Sarah Palin using an image of her standing alongside her make believe BFF to empower her own political aspirations. In a word, shameless.

Margaret Thatcher's 'Sarah Palin snub' enrages US right
US right-wingers have voiced anger at claims that Baroness Thatcher’s aides vetoed a meeting with Sarah Palin because they think the former Alaska governor is “nuts”.
Rush Limbaugh, the talk show host, denounced the suggestion that the former Prime Minister might take a dim view of Mrs Palin as “preposterous”.
Other supporters of the likely presidential candidate complained online that Lady Thatcher’s aides had “disgraced” her.
Mrs Palin, the darling of the right wing Tea Party, has described Margaret Thatcher as one of her “political heroines” and repeatedly expressed her desire for a meeting.
She disclosed recently that she is planning to stop off in London on her way to Sudan later this summer and said she hoped to arrange an interview.
A photo opportunity with Lady Thatcher could help earn Mrs Palin important political capital, not least because of the former prime minister's close ties to Ronald Reagan.

Lady Thatcher is expected to make a public appearance at the US Embassy on July 4 to unveil a statue of the late president to mark the centenary of his birth.
But sources close to the former PM are said to be anxious to avoid any such meeting taking place.
One aide was quoted in The Guardian recently as saying: “Lady Thatcher will not be seeing Sarah Palin.
“That would be belittling for Margaret – Sarah Palin is nuts.”
After the comments were picked up in US publications, Limbaugh opened his show on Wednesday with a lengthy discussion of the issue.
“There's a story out there today, and it's an illustration of how things happen, how things are said and reported," he said.
“This is preposterous, and I have personal knowledge of this.”
He went on to describe himself as a friend of Lady Thatcher, recounting how he once drove her around in a gold cart.
“Back in the day, Margaret Thatcher would in no way allow an aide to refer to anybody, Sarah Palin notwithstanding, as ‘nuts’,” he said.
