US Drone strike death toll mounts to 38 in North Waziristan
PESHAWAR Mar 17 (APP): The death toll in deadliest strike by US predator on village Datakhel in North Waziristan Agency on Thursday night mounted to 38 and 15 others injured.
Sources based in Miranshah, main Town of North Waziristan that the drone attacked a vehicle passing close to a house where a Jirga of Ismailkhel tribe was in progress to settle a dispute between two warring groups over chromite at Datakhel, 40 kilometer West of Miranshah.
One of the four fired missiles hit the house, killing 38 people and wounding 15 others.
The death toll may rise further as condition of several victims is stated to be critical. The identity of victims could not be immediately ascertained. The local residents rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital.

ISLAMABAD, Mar 17 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has strongly condemned the drone attack in Datta Khel, North Waziristan Agency on Thursday and said it will only strengthen the radical and extremist elements. He reiterated that such an irrational behaviour negatively impact the efforts to separate the militants from peaceful and patriotic tribesmen of the areas.
The Prime Minister said such attacks will bode very negatively on our joint efforts to eliminate the menace of terrorism in this region.
The Prime Minister expressed his grief and sorrow over the loss of innocent lives in the drone attacks.
He further expressed his sympathies with the bereaved families and assured that all possible security measures would be taken to protect the people of the region.
