New film depicts Sarah Palin as unready and unstable during the 2008 campaign

“Must we?” asked former Alaska governor and former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin when Fox News host Chris Wallace invited her to watch the trailer of an upcoming HBO film about the failed 2008 Republican campaign.
Game Change is based on a best-selling 2010 book that looks at the Republican and Democrat tickets four years ago.
And it’s not a particularly flattering portrait of the candidates. You can watch the HBO trailer here, with actress Julianne Moore playing the former Alaska governor and actor Ed Harris depicting John McCain.
The key details about Ms. Palin revolve around claims that Mr. McCain’s staff who were assigned to help her prepare for the TV debates had discussed her ”mental stability.” “I was never in a funk,” she told FOX News’ Mr. Wallace when asked about the narrative.
“Thank God, I have the right perspective on what really matters in life, Chris. And there’s no need to ever be in a funk when you know what right priorities are and what really matters in this life,” she told Mr. Wallace.
The original book also made claims that the McCain team had discussed relegating her to a largely ceremonial role had Mr. McCain actually won the election.
In the FOX News interview Sunday night, Ms. Palin said she was not concerned about a film based on a “false narrative” and said she was sorry that millions of people would end up watching the film.
After watching Ms. Moore deliver the former governor’s much-applauded line from Republican convention in 2008 – “What’s the difference between a pit bull and a hockey mom? Lipstick” – Ms. Palin quipped that the film was akin to a Sarah Palin Jobs Act, creating more jobs than President Barack Obama had.
She said she was not going to waste her time and watch the film.
The film airs in Canada in March (http://www.hbocanada.com/details/?id=53638).
