Israel: GOP congressmen in trouble over Sea of Galilee

PJ: Much ado about.... The Sea of Galilee is a popular recreational site for Israeli citizens. Kids swim, families picnic.... I've been there...even wiggled my toes in the water along with my Israeli friends. In the same visit we all floated around in the Dead Sea after smearing Dead Sea mud all over our bodies just like every single Israeli citizen did at the same time! Now the US is in an uproar because some Congressmen went for a dip in the Sea of Galilee after, oh horror of all horrors, having had drinks! Now the chattering classes in the US are saying that these Congressmen violated a religious site as if Galilee is an ancient shrine. Have a look at just some of the wonderful recreation you can enjoy on your next visit to the Sea: http://www.ekinneret.co.il/site/eng/ip.asp?cat=26&pa_cat=5&biz_id=26. Sorry folks...much ado about nothing here.

Republican congressman Kevin Yoder went skinny dipping in the Sea of Galilee during a congressional fact-finding trip to Israel in August of 2011, Politico reported on Sunday.

More than twenty people reportedly took part in the night swim, including several Republican lawmakers and staff and their families, after a dinner at a Tiberius restaurant that involved drinking.
