Topsy-turvy end to Romney trip
By Gary SilvermanIt was a trip I will never forget. Mitt Romney ventured forth to the land of Israel and by the time he was finished talking the Palestinians were defending the Jews.

Mr Romney’s praise for Israelis as a people who can really turn a buck is unlikely to help many of these American Jews relax. Jews have suffered for centuries because of cultural stereotypes involving their supposed moneymaking abilities. It’s an awkward subject, best avoided.
The funny thing is, if Mr Romney had travelled more widely in the Middle East and expanded his circle of acquaintances, he could have talked to a Palestinian and found that out.
